  1. To get a tab delimited file
  2.   1. Choose Get Data File from the File menu
  3.      and then Tab delimited.
  4.  
  5.   2. Select the file from the list,
  6.      changing folders if necessary.
  7.  
  8.   3. Then do one of the following:
  9.     • Click Open.
  10.       This opens the file without entering
  11.       a GET command into an Input window.
  12.  
  13.     • Double-click the filename.
  14.       This opens the file without entering
  15.       a GET command into an Input window.
  16.  
  17.     • Click Paste. This pastes the GET command
  18.       into an input window.
  19.       The command is selected, but SPSS awaits
  20.       your instructions to run it.
  21.       The file is not open until you run it.
  22.  
  23.     • Click Cancel.
  24.       This cancels the request for a file.
